Cultural Exploration & Education Program

CULTURAL EDUCATION AND EXPLORATION PROGRAM (CEEP)

As you participate in our ELP program, you can apply to participate in our Cultural Education and Exploration program (CEEP) program. CEEP offers young people the chance to explore different cultures abroad for two weeks, through equitable access.
During CEEP, youth get to immerse themselves in hands-on cultural experiences, be involved/lead group discussions, and build strong friendships with their peers. This is a 2-week overnight program.

Youth can also expect to experience the following:

  • Participate in domestic and international travel experiences.
  • Engage in immersive cultural exchange activities.
  • Engage in cross cultural youth led discussions and activities.
  • Implement learning into an independent research project.
  • Visit universities and cultural spaces.

OUR GOAL

Our exceptional cultural education program is designed to offer fair and equal access to both international and domestic travel, enabling participants to immerse themselves in hands-on cultural and educational experiences for a duration of two weeks.

Our goal is to empower youth to depart with a profound understanding of cultural nuances, provide a deep knowledge of the historical context of the destination, and exploring the complex social and racial dynamics experienced by youth and diaspora communities. We encourage our young leaders to break down personal emotional barriers and put their emotional well-being into perspective.

HOW DO WE MEET OUR GOAL?

  • We form strategic partnerships with local schools, universities, and organizations to enhance our program's impact.
  • Youth leaders actively lead and engage in both small and large group discussions, aligning with our mission to foster cultural education.
  • Through meaningful conversations with their peers from both local and international backgrounds, our youth leaders learn and grow together, embodying the spirit of Ubuntu and broadening their perspectives.
  • Our youth leaders drive and partake in cultural exchange activities as part of their commitment to embracing and embodying Ubuntu.

THE VALUE OF THIS PROGRAM

  • Gain access to enriching international and domestic educational travel experiences at no cost.
  • Youth leaders cultivate a robust college application or post-high school resume, supported by 4 to 5 years' worth of portfolio work and research.
  • Empower youth leaders to advocate for social and racial justice, fostering civic engagement, self-awareness, self-assurance, and self-confidence.
  • Inspire youth leaders to recognize the value of global citizenship, laying the foundation for embodying and promoting Ubuntu principles.
  • Equip youth leaders with invaluable skills in public speaking, facilitation, analytical and critical thinking, and research, enabling youth leaders to embrace a broader perspective and a more diverse worldview.
